Ford Thunderbird | Monogram 1:24

I would like to present the final effect of the work on the Ford Thunderbird from the NASCAR series. The work on this project lasted 14 months.

Davey Allison was one of the top drivers in the NASCAR series in the early 1990s. The son of the 1983 series champion - Bobby Allison - quickly gained a huge following while driving a Ford Thunderbird for the Robert Yates Racing Team.

Texaco Havoline colors have become some of the most recognizable and iconic car liveries in American motorsport. In his career, which was cut short by a tragic helicopter crash, Davey won 19 races, including the Daytona 500 and the Winston All-Star.

The presented Ford is my first model from the NASCAR series. The Monogram kit offers a significant amount of detail, but I had to rework and modify almost every element to bring the Thunderbird up to 1992 specifications. From the body shape to the exhaust pipes. This time, I won't list the individual modifications and additions to this project, as the model as a whole is one big conversion and modification.

Those more interested can check out the workshop thread for all the details.

Words of recognition and praise are due to SCO, whose countless parts have been used in this project. Rims with tires, brakes, seatbelt clips, bolts, rivets, switches, wires, connectors, ignition boxes - all these parts are what make the model look like it finally does.

I would also like to thank everyone for their help in gathering the documentation and technical guidance regarding this project - without this, this model wouldn't look the way it does!
